Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin was born in Wellington, Manitoba. She grew up there. She made her acting debut as Flora McGrath, the romantic drama film Piano. Paquin, who was raised in Wellington but was born and raised in Winnipeg made her acting d but with The Piano. At age 11, she became one of the youngest Academy Award winner ever for Best Actress. Anna Paquin's full title is Anna Helene Paquin. Born on the 24th of July, 1982 at Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, she was the first Canadian birthed New Zealand actress. As an infant, she won the Academy Award for best support actress. The role she played as the empathetic and curious young girl Holly Hunter played in The Piano (1993) brought her the award. Her family moved to New Zealand when she was as a young child, and lived there for the rest of her life. The part of Flora McGrath - the daughter of the Scottish mute pianist in New Zealand at mid-19th Century was a part she won at an open audition. In her twenties, she had little or any experience in acting. In her teens her family relocated from New Zealand to United States. Paquin was played as the title child in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre in the year 1996. She also played a leading role on the screen in Fly Away Home, a movie from the year. Paquin played Frankie Addams, a character from Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding in 1997. In Steven Spielberg's Amistad in 1997 her character was the Spanish queen in a less prominent role. She portrayed teenagers on Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000). Also, she was the character of the teenage groupie Polexia Aphrodisa on Almost Famous (2000).
