
Suzanne Pleshette, born January 31, 1937, died January 19, 2008, in the US. She was an American film television, theatre, as well as voice actor. 1 Pleshette started her career in the theatre and started appearing in films towards the end of the 1950s and later made appearances in major films like Rome Adventure (1962), Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (1963), and Spirited Away (2001). Then, she appeared in many television productions and was often as a guest actor. She was Emily Hartley in The Bob Newhart Show from 1972 to 1978 which earned her several Emmy Award nominations. Pleshette was the daughter of Geraldine (nee Kaplan), and Eugene Pleshette. She was born in Brooklyn Heights, New York City, on January 31 in 1937. Her parents were Jewish who were descendants of immigrants from Russia and Austria-Hungary.Her mother was a dancer and artist who performed on stage under the name Geraldine Rivers. Her father was stage director for the Paramount Theater, Manhattan, and the Paramount Theater, Brooklyn.
